Pork Chops Baked In Wine
|Lean center cut pork chops||16 Ounce|
|Madeira||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Dry vermouth||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Dried thyme||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Minced onion||2 Tablespoon|
|Freshly ground black pepper||To Taste|
Place the pork chops in casserole.
In saucepan, combine all remaining ingredients except onion and bring to boil over medium heat.
Lower heat and simmer 5 to 10 minutes.
Add onion and simmer 1 to 2 more minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
Pour marinade over chops and marinate 2 to 3 hours in refrigerator, turning occasionally.
Preheat oven to 350°.
Take marinated chops from refrigerator, remove and discard lemon slices, turn meat once again, cover, and bake 10 minutes.
Remove cover, baste, turn heat up to 400°.
Bake 5 to 10 more minutes, or until chops are lightly browned.
