Sweet & Sour Pork
|Vegetable oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Boneless pork||2 Tablespoon, cut in 3/4-in. cubes|
|Canned pineapple tidbits||13 1⁄4 Ounce (1 can)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Vinegar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Garlic salt||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Brand rice||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Green pepper||1 , cut into small squares|
|Tomato||1 , cut into thin wedges|
In a large skillet, heat oil.
Add pork and brown well; drain.
Drain pineapple tidbits; reserve liquid.
Add water to liquid to make 2-1/2 cups liquid.
Add liquid, vinegar, salt, garlic salt and sugar to pork.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and cover.
Cook over low heat 20 minutes.
Remove cover; stir in rice.
Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Let stand, covered, until all liquid is absorbed and pork is tender, about 5 minutes.
Stir in pineapple tidbits, green pepper and tomato wedges.
