Orange Spiced Pork Chops
|Pork loin chops||4 (About 1/2 Inch Thick)|
|Onion||1 Small, thinly sliced|
|Grated orange peel||2 Tablespoon (Of 1 Large Fruit)|
|Orange juice||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Of 1 Large Fruit)|
|Medium red wine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Packed brown sugar||2 Tablespoon|
|Ground cloves||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), finely chopped (Small Cloves)|
|Orange||1 Small, thinly sliced|
|Cold water||1 Tablespoon|
1. Arrange pork chops with narrow ends toward center in baking dish, 8x8x2 inches. Sprinkle pork with salt; arrange onion slices on pork. Mix orange peel, orange juice, wine, brown sugar, cloves and garlic; pour over pork. Cover tightly and microwave on medium (50%) 5 minutes; rotate baking dish 1/4 turn. Microwave 5 minutes longer. Arrange orange slices on pork; rotate baking dish 1/2 turn. Cover and microwave, rotating baking dish 1/4 turn every 5 minutes, until pork is done (170° on meat thermometer), 12 to 15 minutes.
2. Remove pork chops to serving platter. Cover with aluminum foil and keep warm. Pour 1 cup of juices from baking dish into 2-cup measure. Mix cornstarch and water; stir into juice. Cover loosely and microwave on high (100%) until thickened and boiling, 1 to 2 minutes. Serve on a mixture of white and wild rice if desired. Spoon sauce over pork chops.
