Pork Steak Vegetable Bake

Ingredients
  Potatoes 4 Medium, peeled and cut lengthwise in 1/4-inch slices
  Carrot 1 Large, sliced
  Pork steaks 4 , cut 1/2 inch thick
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Onion soup mix envelope 1⁄2 Tablespoon (1/2 Envelope)
  Soy sauce 2 Tablespoon
Directions

Preheat oven to 350°.
Place potatoes and carrot slices in bottom of 12x7 1/2 x2-inch baking dish.
Trim fat from steaks.
In large skillet cook trimmings till about 2 tablespoons fat accumulate; discard trimmings.
In hot fat brown the steaks well on both sides.
In small saucepan combine water, onion soup mix, and soy sauce; bring to boiling.
Spoon half of the soup mixture over the potatoes and carrots; top with pork steaks.
Spoon remaining soup mixture over.
Cover; bake at 350° for 1 hour.
Uncover and bake 10 minutes more.
