Won Tons

  Ground pork 1⁄2 Pound
  Shelled deveined shrimp 4 Large (Large, Uncooked Ones)
  Water chestnuts 4 , finely chopped
  Green onion 1 , finely chopped
  Egg 1 , slightly beaten
  Soy sauce 1 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Wonton wrappers 50
  Oil 2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Frying)

In a small skillet, saute pork until browned.
Remove and discard drippings.
Chop shrimp very fine.
Stir shrimp, water chestnuts and onion into sauteed pork.
Cook and stir about 2 minutes.
Stir in egg, soy sauce, salt and pepper.
Spoon about 1-1/2 teaspoons pork mixture on center of each won ton wrapper.
Moisten edges of wrappers with water.
Fold two opposite corners together over filling, making a triangle.
Press edges together to seal.
Pour oil for deep-frying into a deep-fryer to depth recommended by manufacturer or pour oil 2 inches deep in a heavy medium saucepan.
Heat oil to 375°F (190°C).
At this temperature a 1-inch cube of bread will turn golden brown in for 40 seconds.
Lower won tons into hot oil one at a time.
Fry about 1 minute until crisp and golden brown.
Drain on paper towels; serve hot.
