Pork Chops Stuffed With Smoked Cheese
|Pork loin chops||60 Ounce, cut 1 inch thick (6 Pieces, About 10 Ounces Each)|
|Soft bread crumbs||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Shredded smoked mozzarella cheese/Smoked gouda cheese||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chopped prosciutto/Ham||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Olive oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
1. Trim excess fat from chops. With a sharp knife, slit a pocket in meaty part of each chop, cutting toward bone. Season chops with salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
2. In a small bowl, combine bread crumbs, cheese, prosciutto or ham, and remaining 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Stuff filling into chops; fasten closed with toothpicks.
3. In a large frying pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add chops and cook, turning once, 3 to 5 minutes, or until browned on both sides. Add water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook 20 to 30 minutes, or until tender and white throughout, turning once. Remove toothpicks and serve.
