Chicken, Pork, Or Veal Chow Mein

Ingredients
  Vegetable oil 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Chinese cabbage 2 Cup (32 tbs), sliced
  Sliced celery 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Canned bean sprouts 1 Pound, drained (1 Can)
  Canned water chestnuts 4 Ounce, sliced (1 Can)
  Sugar 2 Teaspoon
  Water or chicken broth 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Cornstarch 2 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Water 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Soy sauce 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Cooked chicken/Pork/veal 2 Cup (32 tbs), sliced and cut thin
  Chow mein noodles 1 Cup (16 tbs), slivers
Directions

Heat oil, salt, and pepper in deep skillet.
Add cabbage, celery, bean sprouts, water chestnuts, and sugar.
Stir in chicken broth; cook about 10 min.
Mix cornstarch, water, and soy sauce; add to vegetable mixture.
Stir until mixture thickens.
Add meat and heat through.
