Cheese Puffed Pork Chops
|Pork chops||4 , cut 1 inch thick|
|Flour||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Milk||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Egg||1 , slightly beaten|
|Onion||1 Small, grated|
|Grated parmesan cheese||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Brown chops on one side in a heavy frying pan; sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
Melt butter in a saucepan; blend in flour; slowly stir in milk.
Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture makes a very thick paste; add egg and beat well, cooking until mixture is shiny.
Stir in the onion, cheese, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
Turn over chops and place a spoonful of batter on top of each.
Brown bottom of chops for 5 minutes; then place in a moderate oven (350°) for 30 minutes.
