  Flaky dough 1 Pound
  Cooking apples 4
  Jam 1 Tablespoon (As Per Choice)
  Beaten egg 1
  Granulated sugar 1 Tablespoon

? Preheat oven to 375 °F (190 °C).
? Roll out flaky dough 1/4 in (0.65 cm) thick on lightly floured surface. Use ruler to measure rectangle of about 5xl5 in(13x38 cm). Using pastry wheel, cut out rectangle and transfer to cookie sheet. Prick dough with fork.
? Cut out 4 strips of dough about 3/4 in (2 cm) wide; 2 long enough for the sides and 2 for the ends. Position strips of dough on rectangle using a little beaten egg to affix overlapping corners.
? Spread a thin layer of jam on bottom of dough.
? Core, peel and cut apples in wedges 14 in (1.2 cm) thick. Arrange apples over jam on dough. Apples should not rest on borders.
? Brush borders of dough with beaten egg. Sprinkle with sugar and bake 30 minutes in oven.
