Greengage Plum Ice
|Unflavored gelatin||2 Teaspoon|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Canned greengage plums and syrup||20 Ounce (About 2.5 Cups)|
|Orange juice||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Lemon juice||2 Tablespoon|
|Green food coloring||2 Drop|
Combine the gelatin, sugar, and salt in a saucepan.
Stir in the water and set over low heat until gelatin and sugar are dissolved, stirring constantly.
Set aside to cool.
Cut plums into halves, pit, and force through a sieve or food mill (about 2 1/4 cups puree).
Combine with cooled gelatin and the orange and lemon juices.
Stir in the food coloring.
Pour into an 8-inch square pan and freeze until firm, stirring several times.
