2 medium onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 medium-size green pepper, chopped
2 (6-ounce) cans tomato paste
2 cans water
2 (8-ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 tablespoon ground oregano
2 teaspoons fennel seeds
1 teaspoon thyme
Brown beef, onion, garlic, and green pepper in large skillet.
Add next 7 ingredients and cook slowly until thick.
Correct seasoning, if needed.
Spread cooked sauce on party rye bread; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Bake at 350° just until heated through.
