Easy Barley Pilaf
|Barley||1 Cup (16 tbs) (Regular One, From 1 Pound Package)|
|Onion||1 Large, chopped to make 1 cup|
|Butter/Margarine||4 Tablespoon (1/2 Stick)|
|Instant chicken broth||1 Ounce (1 Envelope)|
1. In a kettle place a large amount of water, salt and barley. Cook for 1 hour until tender.
2. In a large frying pan, add butter or margarine and sautee onion until soft. Add chicken broth and barley. Mix well and cover for 15 minute on very slow heat.
3. Serve as a sauce on the side of a meat dish.
