Easy Buttered Onion Pilaf

Ingredients
  Butter 1 Tablespoon
  Onion 1 Medium, halved, then thinly sliced
  Basmati rice 5 Ounce, rinsed well in cold water (140 Gram)
  Chicken stock/Lamb stock 18 Fluid Ounce (500 Milliliter)
Directions

MAKING
1. In a saucepan, heat butter, add onions, cover it and allow to fry gently for ten minutes till just soft not browned
2. Take the lid off, add rice and cook for a couple of minutes; add stock and seasoning
3. Stir a little, cover again and cook gentky for twenty minutes
4. Take it off the heat and let stand for ten minutes
5. Fluff the grains up with a fork till they are tender and buttery and onions completely soft

SERVING
6. Goes well with lamb
