|Onion||1 Medium, finely chopped|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), crushed|
|Rice||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Cinnamon stick/1.5 teaspoon||1|
|Whole cloves/0.5 teaspoon ground cloves||6|
|Water/Stock||1 Cup (16 tbs) (Adjust Quantity As Needed)|
Melt butter in frying pan; cook onion and garlic until soft.
Add rice; cook until rice begins to take on color.
Add coriander, cinnamon, and cloves.
Cover with water, with about 1/4 inch water above rice; simmer gently, covered, until done.
If necessary, add a bit of water from time to time to keep rice from sticking.
