Walnut Pie is a popular nut pie that spreads chopped walnut filling, mostly on an unbaked walnut pie shell. A very basic walnut pie seems very similar to the traditional pecan pie, but using walnuts instead of pecans. However, it does not always happen that the walnut pie takes in the plain nut filling – for the walnuts to stick together and give out a juicy feel, the pie almost always use some kind of thickening agent and a balancing ingredient such as spinach, pumpkin, chocolate etc. Eating a warn slice of walnut pie can be so pleasure-filled, especially if with a toasted walnut topping.
