Pork Pie

Pork Pie, a traditional pie enjoyed by the British, is an extremely delicious savory pie with a filling mix composed of sliced pork and pork jelly. There are mainly two types of pork pies generally made and served which are common pork pie and Melton Mowbray pork pie. Common pork pie is simpler and faster to make in volume that mainly uses cured meat filling, which is often pored into some moulds and baked. Unlike the common pie, the Melton Mowbray pork pie takes in uncured meat, which is often made in hand-formed crust, resulting in a slightly irregular shape when baked. Pork pie usually goes for hot water crust pastry. Some of the popular variations of pork pie include gala pie, which often has a hard boiled egg in the center of pie filling. Often served cold with caramelized gooseberry topping, pork pie is a savory pie made in soft and tender texture.
