Strawberry Ice Cream Pie

The strawberry ice cream pie is a luxuriant dessert pie and one of my best loved pies. Made with fresh seasonal strawberries and marshmallows along with vanilla ice crem, the strawberry ice cream pie is layered pie made with marshmallow meringue topping. baked in the oven with a cereal flake pie shell, the strawberry ice cream pie is pure heaven!
Ingredients
  Marshmallows 10
  Crushed strawberries 2 Tablespoon
  Red food coloring 2 Drop
  Egg whites 2
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Vanilla ice cream 2⁄3 Quart
  Cereal flake pie shell 1
  Strawberries 1 Cup (16 tbs), sliced
  Unstemmed berries 10
Directions

Heat marshmallows with crushed strawberries slowly, folding over and over until marshmallows are half melted.
Remove from heat and continue folding until mixture is smooth and fluffy.
Add coloring and cool.
Beat egg whites until they hold a peak; add sugar slowly, beating constantly.
Add salt.
Blend lightly with marshmallow mixture.
Place ice cream in crumb shell, cover with sliced strawberries and top with marshmallow meringue, swirled attractively.
Brown quickly in broiler or very hot oven (450° F.) 1/2 minute or until tips of the meringue swirls are browned.
Remove pie from oven, tuck unstemmed strawberries into the swirls and serve immediately.
