Luscious Lime Chiffon Pie
|Baked 9 inch pastry shell||1 , cooled|
|Eggs||3 , separated|
|Sweetened condensed milk||1 Can (10 oz) (1 1/3 Cups, Eagle Brand)|
|Green food colouring||2 Drop|
|Lime juice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Realime)|
|Grated lime rind||2 Teaspoon|
|Cream of tartar||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Whipping cream||1 Cup (16 tbs), chilled|
In large size bowl, beat egg yolks until thick and lemon coloured.
Continue to beat; gradually add sweetened condensed milk.
Add food colouring.
Beat until well blended.
Add lime juice and 1 teaspoon of grated rind.
Beat together cream of tartar and egg whites until soft peaks form.
Gently fold into lime mixture.
Pour into baked shell.
Refrigerate 5 hours, or until set.
Decorate with Whipped creamed and serve
