Classic Corn Pone Pie

Ingredients
  Ground beef 1 Pound
  Chopped onion 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Shortening 1 Tablespoon
  Chili powder 6 Teaspoon
  Salt 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Worcestershire sauce 1 Teaspoon
  Canned tomatoes/1 cup tomato sauce 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Kidney beans 1 Cup (16 tbs), drained
  Corn bread mix/Favorite recipe for corn bread 8 1⁄2 Ounce (1 Box)
Directions

Brown ground beef and onion in shortening.
Add seasonings and tomatoes and cook for 10 minutes.
Add kidney beans.
Pour into greased 11/2-quart casserole.
Top with corn bread prepared according to package directions.
Bake 20 minutes or until corn bread is done in 425-degree oven.
Leftover chili is a delicious substitute for meat mixture.
Simply heat; top with corn bread and continue as above.
