Grandmother's Pecan Pie

Ingredients
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Dark corn syrup 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Eggs 3
  Butter/Margarine 2 Tablespoon, melted
  Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
  Chopped pecans 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  9 inch unbaked pastry shell 1
Directions

Combine sugar and corn syrup in a small saucepan, bring to a boil.
Beat eggs at medium speed of an electric mixer until blended.
Gradually add hot sugar mixture to eggs, beating constantly.
Stir in butter, vanilla, and pecans.
Pour mixture into pastry shell, bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
