Fruit Pies

Ingredients
  Butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Margarine 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Sugar 1 Tablespoon
  Salt 1 Pinch
  Flour 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

To prepare the pastry shell, in a bowl beat together the butter and margarine.
Add the egg, sugar and salt, mixing well.
Stir in the flour until the dough forms a ball.
Place the dough between two sheets of waxed paper.
Roll out to fit into a nine-inch pie pan.
Crimp the edges.
Chill for thirty to sixty minutes.
Prick the bottom of the shell with a fork in several places.
Line with waxed paper and pour in some rice or beans.
Bake at 350 degrees for eight to twelve minutes, or until the shell is golden.
Discard the rice and waxed paper. (If it is not crisp enough, return to oven for a few more minutes.)
Cool and fill with filling of your choice.
