Cut remnants of cold broiled steak or roast beef or any cooked meat in 1 in. cubes.
Cover with boiling water, add 1/2 onion, and cook slowly 1 hr.
Remove onion, thicken gravy with flour diluted with cold water, and season with salt and pepper.
Add potatoes cut in 1/4 in. slices, which have been parboiled 8 min. in boiling salted water.
Put in a greased pudding dish, cover with hot mashed potatoes, baking powder biscuit mixture, or pie crust.
Bake in a hot oven of 450°F. for 30 min.
If covered with pie crust, make several incisions in crust.
The variety of canned meats now on the market should greatly help housekeepers in their meal planning.
