Hidden Sloppy Joes
|Cooking oil||3 Tablespoon|
|Ground beef||2 Pound|
|Chopped celery||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Sweet pickle relish||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Commercial chili sauce||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Ketchup||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||3 Tablespoon|
|Worcestershire sauce||2 Teaspoon|
|Biscuit dough||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Mozzarella cheese slices||3|
|Grated parmesan cheese||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Heat oven to 400 degrees.
Lightly grease an oblong baking pan about 13 X 9 1/2 X 2 inches (use a glass pan if you have one).
Heat oil in large heavy saucepan.
Add beef and onion and cook, stirring, until beef is lightly browned.
Add celery, green pepper, pickle relish, chili sauce, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, salt, Worcestershire sauce and oregano.
Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
(If mixture is very wet towards end of cooking time remove cover and continue cooking until most of liquid cooks away.) Roll half of biscuit dough into an oblong about 14 X 10 1/2 inches and use it to line prepared baking dish, letting dough go up sides of pan a little to hold filling.
Spread with meat mixture.
Completely cover meat with thin slices Mozzarella cheese.
Roll remaining dough to fit top of baking dish and lay it over cheese.
Brush with melted butter and sprinkle evenly with Parmesan cheese.
Cut a slit in the top to let the steam escape.
Bake about 20 minutes or until dough is very well browned and filling is bubbling well.
Serve very hot.
