GETTING READY
1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
2. In a 9-inch pie plate, place a pie shell and set aside.
MAKING
3. In a bowl, combine apple slices, lemon juice, sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Mix well and evenly distribute the mixture over pie crust.
4. Place butter pats randomly over apple filling and cover with the second pie crust.
5. Pop the pie plate in oven and bake for 45 minutes or until golden on top.
For Topping:
6. About 5-10 minutes before the pie is done, in a pan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Whisk in vanilla and heavy cream.
8. Sift and add powdered sugar and mix until the mixture reaches creamy consistency.
FINALIZING
9. Remove the pie from oven and slather with the topping mixture.
SERVING
10. Garnish with the pecan halves, cut into wedges and serve.
