Lemon Meringue Party Pie

Ingredients
  Pie shell 9 Inch, cooled
  Lemon pudding and pie filling 3 Ounce (The Kind You Have To Cook)
  Cold water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Egg yolks 3 , slightly beaten
  Water 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Butter 1 Tablespoon
  Grated lemon rind 1 Teaspoon
  Lemon juice 2 Tablespoon
  Egg whites 3
  Cream of tartar 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Sugar 6 Tablespoon
Directions

Prepare pie shell. Mix contents of pudding and pie filling package with sugar. Add 1/2 cup water and blend well. Add egg yolks, then 2 cups water. Cook and stir over medium high heat until mixture comes to a full boil (bubbles break across the entire surface). Remove from heat; add butter, lemon rind, and juice. Stir until well blended. Pour into pie shell. Make and bake meringue as for Lemon Meringue Pie (above). Note: If you have trouble making Lemon Meringue Pie from scratch, this recipe is practically fool-proof and will stand with the best.
