Betty's Mouth-Watering Milk Chocolate Meringue Pie

Betty demonstrates how to make a Mouth-Watering Milk Chocolate Meringue Pie. This pie is a great choice for almost any occasion.

Ingredients

Sugar 1 1/2 Tablespoon
Cornstarch 1/8 Cup (2 tbs)
Cocoa powder 1 1/2 Tablespoon
Salt 1/4 Teaspoon
Milk 2 Cup (32 tbs) ((whole or any milk you like))
Milk chocolate chips 5 Ounce
Butter 2 Tablespoon
Vanilla extract 1/2 Teaspoon
Baked pie crust 1 ((9
Meringue 1 Cup (16 tbs) ((more or less as needed))

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Preheat oven to 325 degree F.

MAKING

2. In a medium-sized saucepan combine sugar, cornstarch, cocoa powder, and salt.

3. Pour milk and mix well. Place saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Stir constantly and cook for 1-2 minutes or until mixture is thickened. Remove from heat.

4. Add milk chocolate chips, butter, and vanilla. Stir until milk chocolate chips and butter melt completely. Cover with plastic wrap and allow it to cool to room temperature. Pop it in refrigerator to chill.

5. Pour milk chocolate pudding into baked 9-inch pie crust.

6. Spoon dollops of meringue over the top. Smooth out with a spatula.

7. Pop the pie in oven and bake for about 15 minutes or until the meringue is golden brown, and a knife inserted into the meringue comes out clean.

8. Remove from oven and place pie on cooling rack to cool to room temperature.

SERVING

9. Cut into wedges and serve at room temperature or chilled.

TIPS

Make meringue from Betty’s Kitchen using:

Cornstarch- 1 tablespoon

Sugar- 2 tablespoons +6 tablespoons

Water- ½ cup

Salt- 1/8 teaspoon

Egg whites- 3
