Shepherd's Pie

MAKING
1) Cut the potatoes in 1 inch cubes and put them into a pot of simmering water
2) Boil them for about 15minutes
3) Drop in the whole cloves of garlic along with the potatoes
4) Once the potatoes are cooked, mash them up while they are warm
5) Add to it some butter and salt and pepper to taste
6) Once done keep aside
7) Finely chop an onion and 2 cloves of garlic
8) In a cast iron pan, over a grill sauté the onion and garlic
9) Add to it add the ground beef and fry well
10) Season the ground beef with salt, thyme, rosemary, ketchup and fry well
11) Add beef broth if the mixture dries out
12) Add the frozen peas and carrots
13) The add the frozen sweet corn
14) Simmer the mixture for about 15 minutes over the grill
15) Add a sprinkle of flour to thicken the mixture up
16) Spread dollops of the mashed potato over the beef mixture
17) Cover the pan and the grill and brown the top for about 25 minutes
18) If desired spread a thin layer of grated cheese and allow to melt over

19) Serve warm
