Apple Sunday Pie

Ingredients
  Chocolate wafer crumbs 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Chopped pecans 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
  Softened butter/Margarine 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Melted)
  Vanilla ice cream 1 Quart
  Shredded peeled apple 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Pecan halves 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Unpeeled apple slices 1 Cup (16 tbs) (For Garnish)
  Heavy cream 1⁄2 Pint, whipped
Directions

Mix wafer crumbs, pecans and butter or margarine to- gether until crumbly.
Press onto bottom and sides of a 9- inch pie plate.
Bake in moderate oven (375°F.) about 7 minutes.
Chill thoroughly until well set.
Soften ice cream and combine with shredded apple.
Spread apple-ice cream mixture into pie shell.
Sprinkle with pecans.
Place in freezer or keep thoroughly chilled until ready to serve; then garnish with thin, unpeeled apple slices.
Before serving, top the pie with whipped cream and then garnish with the apple slices if you wish.
