Deep South Pie

Cook rice until very soft (at least twice as .long as customary J.
Drain and mash with a fork.
Melt butter in a large saucepan.
Stir in molasses, sugar, eggs, salt, vanilla and rice and pour into pie shell.
Sprinkle pecans evenly over the top.
Bake in a mod- erate oven (375° F) 50 minutes.
Cool before serving.
Makes one 9-inch pie.
