Key Lime Pie
|Sweetened condensed milk||14 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Lime juice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Egg yolks||3 Large|
|9 inch baked pastry crust||1|
|Egg whites||3 Large|
|Cream of tartar||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
Combine condensed milk and lime juice in medium-size bowl.
Blend in egg yolks; turn into cooled crust.
Heat oven to 325 degrees.
Beat egg whites with cream of tartar in small bowl until soft peaks form.
Beat in sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, until egg whites form stiff, glossy peaks.
Spoon over filling; spread to edge of crust to seal.
Bake 15 minutes or until golden.
Cool on wire rack to room temperature.
