Old Fashioned Vanilla Custard Pie
|9 inch pie shell||1 (Unbaked)|
|Granulated sugar||4 Tablespoon|
|Milk||3 Cup (48 tbs) (Scalding Hot)|
|Vanilla extract||1 1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Grated nutmeg||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
Beat eggs until thoroughly mixed and bubbly.
Add sugar and salt; mix well.
Add 3 tablespoons of the scalding hot milk to egg mixture; mix well.
Add egg mixture to the milk; stir in vanilla.
Beat gently until all is evenly mixed; pour into unbaked shell.
Bake 400 degrees for 12 minutes; reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 25 minutes or until tested done in middle.
Remove from oven; cool; refrigerate at least 2 hours before cutting.
