Old Time Pot Pie

Ingredients
  Beef stew meat 2 Pound, cut in 1 1/2 inch cubes
  Fat 2 Tablespoon
  Worcestershire sauce 1 Teaspoon
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm)
  Onion 1 Medium, sliced
  Bay leaf 1
  Salt 1 Tablespoon
  Sugar 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Paprika 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Carrots 6 Small, halved
  Potatoes 6 Small, pared and halved
  Onions 6 Small
Directions

Thoroughly brown meat on all sides in small amount hot fat; add 3 cups boiling water, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion, bay leaf, and seasonings.
Cover; simmer 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Remove bay leaf and garlic.
Add vegetables.
Cover and cook about 30 minutes longer.
Transfer meat and vegetables to a serving bowl.
Thicken liquid; pour into the bowl.
Top with ring of hot Thimble Rolls.
