Black Bottom Pie With Chocolate Crust

Ingredients
  Unflavored gelatin 1 Tablespoon (1 Envelope)
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Milk 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Eggs 4 , separated
  Cornstarch 1 Tablespoon
  Rum 2 Tablespoon
  Unsweetened chocolate 1 1⁄2 Ounce (1 1/2 Squares)
  Chocolate cookie crumb crust 1 , baked
  Whipped cream 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Adjust Quantity As Needed)
  Semi sweet chocolate shavings 2 Tablespoon
Directions

Mix gelatin, 1/4 cup sugar, and the salt in top of small double boiler, Add milk, egg yolks and cornstarch; beat to blend.
Put over simmering water and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and coats a metal spoon.
Remove from heat and add rum.
Measure out 1/2 cup of the mixture and blend in chocolate.
Spread in bottom of cold Crumb Crust.
Chill remaining mixture until thickened but not firm.
Beat egg whites until foamy; gradually add remaining sugar, beating until stiff but not dry.
Fold into gelatin mixture.
Pile lightly on chocolate mixture.
Chill until firm.
Top with whipped cream and shaved chocolate.
