Apple Raisin Pie

Ingredients
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  All purpose flour 2 Tablespoon
  Raisins 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Tart apples 4 , peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  Rum 2 Tablespoon
  9 inch double crust pie pastry 1
  Sharp process american cheese slice 3
Directions

In saucepan blend sugar, flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt; stir in 1/2 cup water and raisins.
Cook, stirring constantly, till mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
Add apples and rum.
Line 9-inch pie plate with pastry; fill with apple mixture.
Adjust top crust over filling; seal.
Cut slits in top crust.
Sprinkle with sugar, if desired.
Gently fold a strip of foil around rim of crust covering fluted edge.
Bake at 400° for 40 to 50 minutes or till done.
Before serving, top pie with 6 triangles of cheese; broil to melt cheese.
Serve warm.
