Boneless Lean Pork And Apple Pie
|Boneless lean pork||1 Pound, cut into small pieces|
|Cooking apples||2 , peeled, cored and thinly sliced|
|Onions||2 , sliced|
|Potatoes||6 Medium, thinly sliced|
|Chopped sage||1 Teaspoon|
|Stock||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Shortcrust pastry/1 1/2 cups 375 milliliter mashed potatoes||1|
Season the pork well with salt and pepper.
Layer the pork with the apples, onions and potatoes in a deep, greased pie dish, sprinkling sage and seasoning over.
Dot with lard, pour in the stock, and cover with foil or wax paper.
Bake for one and a half hours at 325° F. [170° C.].
Cool and cover with pastry or mashed potatoes.
Bake about 30 minutes at 425° F. [220° C.].
