The Perfect Pecan Pie

Making the perfect pecan pie isn’t just about putting the right ingredients together, it’s about taking the time and caring about every aspect of the process.
Ingredients
For pie crust
  Flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 Tablespoon
  Softened butter 6 Tablespoon
  Shortening 6 Tablespoon
  Ice water 8 Tablespoon
For pecan pie filling
  White corn syrup 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄3 Teaspoon
  Melted butter 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Eggs 3 Small, beaten
  Roasted pecans 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Directions

Pecan Preparation

Take two cups of pecans and either roast them in the microwave or the oven. To roast in the oven, spray a cookie sheet with nonstick spray and spread nuts all over pan. Bake at 350 for four minutes, take out and stir, then bake another four minutes. To roast in microwave spread nuts on a plate and cook for one minute, stir and cook for another minute.

Pie Crust Recipe

Mix dry ingredients and then mix in the rest. Once thoroughly mixed wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes before rolling the crust into the pie tin.

Pecan Pie Filling Recipe

Mix the syrup, sugar, salt, butter and vanilla. Stir in Eggs. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust and sprinkle the nuts into the pie. Bake in a preheated 350 oven for 30 minutes then put tin foil around the crusts to prevent burning. Bake for another 30 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
