Unsugared Apple Pie

Ingredients
  Double pie crust 1 (Homemade Or Store Bought)
  Apples 12 Large, peeled, cored and coarsely chopped to make about 10 cups (Delicious Apples)
  Dark raisins 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Walnuts 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), coarsely chopped
  Unsweetened apple juice 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Butter 1 Tablespoon
  Instant tapioca/Quick cooking tapioca 1 Tablespoon
  Vanilla 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Directions

Place oven rack in lowest position.
Preheat oven to 400°.
Line pie pan with bottom crust.
Fill crust with apples, raisins and walnuts.
In a small saucepan, heat juice, butter, tapioca and vanilla until butter melts.
Pour over apples.
Top with second crust.
Crimp edges and cut a steam hold in center of pie.
Bake at 400° for 50 minutes or until crust is browned.
Cool before cutting.
Virtue may, upon occasion, be compromised by serving this unsugared pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
