Country Beef Pie
|Canned tomato sauce||16 Ounce (2 Cans, 8 Ounce Each)|
|Bread crumbs||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Ground beef||1 Pound|
|Chopped onion||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Chopped green pepper||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Packaged precooked rice||1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)|
|Cheddar cheese||1 Cup (16 tbs), grated|
Combine 1 /2 can tomato sauce, crumbs, ground beef, onion, green pepper, 1 1 /2 teaspoons salt, oregano and pepper; mix well.
Pat mixture in greased 9-inch pie plate; pinch 1-inch edges and flute.
Combine rice, remaining tomato sauce, remaining salt, 1 cup water and 1/4 cup cheese.
Spoon rice mixture into beef shell.
Cover with foil.
Bake in 350-degree oven for 25 minutes.
Remove cover; sprinkle top with remaining cheese.
Return to oven.
Bake, uncovered, for 10 to 15 minutes.
