Simple Shepard's Pie
|Cooked beef/Mutton||1 Pound (Cold)|
|Cooked mashed potatoes||2 Pound|
|Egg/1 tablespoon milk||1|
Remove any skin, gristle or bone and cut the meat into small dice.
Parboil and finely chop the onion and place in a pie-dish with the meat and the gravy.
Cover with mashed potatoes and smooth and decorate the top to look like pie-crust.
Glaze with beaten egg or milk if liked.
Bake in a moderate oven (350° F., Gas 4) for about 1/2 hr until thoroughly warmed and the surface is well browned.
