Vanilla Cream Pie
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|All purpose flour/3 tablespoons cornstarch||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Milk||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Beaten egg yolks||3|
|9 inch baked pastry shell||1 , cooled|
|Whipped cream||2 Ounce|
Mix sugar, flour or cornstarch, and 1/4 teaspoon salt; stir in milk.
Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly.
Cook and stir 2 minutes more.
Remove from heat.
Stir moderate amount of hot mixture into yolks; immediately return to hot mixture.
Cook and stir 2 minutes.
Stir in butter and vanilla.
Pour into pastry shell.
