Quick Cherry Pie

Ingredients
  Baked pie shell 1
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Cornstarch 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Canned pitted tart red cherries 32 Ounce, drained (2 Cans, 16 Ounce Each, Water Packed)
  Almond extract 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Sliced almonds 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Directions

Bake pie shell.
Set aside.
Blend sugar, cornstarch and salt in medium bowl.
Stir in cherries.
Microwave at HIGH (100%) until mixture is translucent, 8 to 11 minutes, stirring once or twice during cooking.
Stir in almond extract.
Pour into pie shell.
Sprinkle with almonds.
Chill.
