Chocolate Almond Pie

Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 6 Tablespoon
  Dark corn syrup 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Slivered almonds 1 Cup (16 tbs), lightly toasted
  Sugar 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
  Eggs 3
  Flour 1 Tablespoon
  Almond extract 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  9 inch baked cookie crumb crust 1
  Semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
Directions

1. Place butter in a 2-quart glass bowl. Microwave, uncovered, at Time Cook (power level 10) for 2 to 3 minutes, or until melted. Add all remaining ingredients, except pie crust and chocolate chips. Beat until smooth. Microwave, uncovered, at Time Cook (power level 5) for 6/2 to 9 minutes, or until hot, stirring every 2 minutes.
2. Pour mixture into prepared pie crust. Place pie on an inverted saucer in the oven . Microwave, uncovered, at Time Cook (power level 5) for 11 to 15 minutes, or until the center is nearly firm, rotating the dish 1/4 turn every 5 minutes. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Microwave at Time Cook (power level 4) for 1 to 2 minutes, or until chips are soft. Remove pie from oven. Using a butter knife, spread softened chocolate chips evenly oven the surface of the pie. Let stand 30 minutes at room temperature. Refrigerate for 2 hours or longer, but remove pie from refrigerator 1 hour prior to serving to soften chocolate top.
