Homemade Shepherd's Pie
|Frozen whole kernel corn/Peas / mixed vegetables||10 Ounce (1 Package)|
|Ground beef/Ground pork / ground lamb||1 Pound|
|Onion||1 Medium, chopped|
|Water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Canned condensed tomato soup/Cheddar cheese soup||11 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Worcestershire sauce||1 Teaspoon|
|Dried thyme||1⁄4 Teaspoon, crushed|
|Instant mashed potatoes||7 Ounce (Enough For 4 Servings)|
Place vegetables in a colander; run cold water over vegetables to separate.
In a large skillet cook meat and onion until meat is brown, stirring to break up pieces.
Drain off fat.
Stir vegetables and water into meat mixture.
Cover and cook about 5 minutes or until vegetables are just tender.
Stir in soup, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and pepper.
Transfer to a 1 1/2-quart casserole.
Prepare mashed potatoes according to package directions.
Drop in mounds on top of the hot meat mixture.
If desired, sprinkle with paprika.
