Peach Ice Cream Pie
|Granulated sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Cream of tartar||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Vanilla ice cream||2 Quart|
|Sliced peaches||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Fresh Or Frozen, Strawberries Or Raspberries)|
Start heating oven to 275°F.
To make meringue, sift sugar with cream of tartar; beat egg whites until stiff; gradually add sifted sugar and continue beating until glossy.
"Butter" 2 9" pie plates; spread meringue on bottoms and sides of pie plates, swirling it up at edges and keeping it off rims of plates.
Bake 1 hr.
Cool; wrap carefully; freeze.
