Basic Pie Crust
|Wheat sprout||1 Cup (16 tbs) (1/4 inch)|
|Vegetable shortening||6 Tablespoon|
|Whole wheat flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|White flour||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Ice water||4 Tablespoon|
Put egg yolk and sprouts in blender and blend on high speed for 20 seconds.
Cream together the butter and shortening in large bowl.
Add flours and salt and mix together with electric mixer or fingers until mixture is like coarse meal.
Mix in egg and sprouts.
Add ice water, 1 tbsp.at a time, mixing dough until it is firm and not sticky.
Wrap in wax paper and refrigerate.
