Superb Cheese Apple Pie
|9 inch double crust pie pastry||1|
|Granulated sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Grated sharp cheddar cheese||1 Cup (16 tbs) (Processed)|
|Sliced pared cored apples||5 Cup (80 tbs)|
|Lemon juice||2 Teaspoon|
|Heavy cream||3 Tablespoon|
Start heating oven to 425°F.
Line 9" pie plate with pastry; roll out top crust.
Combine sugar, flour, salt, and 2/3 cup cheese.
Sprinkle half of mixture in lined pie plate; heap apples on top; sprinkle with lemon juice.
Cover with rest of sugar mixture, 1/3 cup cheese, and cream; adjust top crust.
Bake 45 min., or until apples are tender.
