Old Fashioned Butterscotch Pie

Ingredients
  Baked pie crust 1
  Brown sugar 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Water 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Flour 2 Tablespoon
  Cornstarch 2 Tablespoon
  White sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Egg yolks 2
  Butter 3 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
Directions

1. Heat brown sugar and water to boiling point.
2. In a bowl combine flour, cornstarch and white sugar.
3. Pour boiling mixture into bowl, stir, then return to saucepan.
4. Continue cooking until thick.
5. Mix egg yolks in a cup, and add some of the thickened mixture.
6. Return all to saucepan, mix, and cook 1 minute longer.
7. Remove from heat and add butter, salt and vanilla. Cool.
8. Pour into cooled shell.
9. Make a meringue of the egg whites.
