|Tender flaky pastry||1 (For 8 Inch Two Crust Pie)|
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Sliced pared apples||5 Cup (80 tbs)|
Heat oven to 425° (hot).
Mix sugar, flour, spice; mix lightly through apples.
Heap into pastry-lined pie pan.
Dot with butter.
Cover with top crust which has slits cut in it; seal and flute.
Bake 50 to 60 min., until crust is browned and apples are cooked.
