Classic Deep Dish Peach Pie
|Firm ripe peaches||8 Medium, peeled, pitted, and sliced 1/2 inch thick|
|Firmly packed light brown sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground nutmeg||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Unsalted margarine||1 Tablespoon, softened|
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
In an ungreased 1 quart baking dish or souffle dish, place the peaches, the 1/4 cup brown sugar, the cinnamon, and nutmeg, and stir together.
In a small bowl, blend the remaining brown sugar with the flour and margarine and sprinkle evenly over the peaches.
Bake for 30 minutes or until the peaches are tender.
