Deep Dish Apple Pie With Buttermilk Biscuit Mix
|Sliced tart apples||5 Cup (80 tbs), peeled|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Cinnamon/Cloves/combination of these spices||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Buttermilk biscuit mix||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
In a deep, 2-quart, heat resistant, non metallic casserole combine apples, sugar, water and the 1/2 teaspoon of spice.
Heat, covered, on full power 4 minutes or until apples are almost tender.
While apples are cooking, prepare topping.
Combine biscuit mix, sugar and milk stirring with fork until just moistened.
Drop mixture by spoonfuls on hot apple mixture.
Heat, covered, on full power 6 minutes or until topping is no longer doughy underneath.
